Art

I've always liked drawing.
When it was convenient. For example, when my parents just bought a new pack of crayons when I was seven, or now really - I'll be a full-time ARTISTE!

Until I lose all of them, my parents scold me, and I don't touch paper until the cycle repeats.
So I've got that going for me.

Al isn't really an artist. She does not consider herself one and a few years ago she would've considered her art the worst in human history. Then she learnt about modern art, patted herself on the back and said, "Now I know there are people worse than me!"

Jokes aside, her art HAS been getting better, and I'm proud of her for it.

I liked to draw once in a while: when I either get a BURST of motivation or a new colour set.

Like the summer before seventh grade when I redrew pictures from storybooks in my own 'style'. When I say style, I mean I tried my ABSOLUTE BEST to draw it right and fail but it still looks relatively good though nothing like the reference.

If I knew any artist around seventh grade - my only option would be Panda.
Panda was a great artist. She mostly drew doodles and stuff - or all I saw her draw was doodles. I ACTUALLY started to see her drawing talent. She even drew me a card! With my face on it! She was really, really, really good!

And that was frankly TERRIFYING.

I didn't dare to try and PICK UP a PENCIL!!!!!!

So I sat in my whole of writing and she stayed in her hole of drawing.

And that's really how I thought life worked. We find a hole and then we stay in it. But then I peeked out of my hole to see a person refusing to stay in one. And that person was Mimi.

Mimi liked doing stuff.

If there was a prize for a person with the most hobbies - it was Mimi.
She'd draw, she'd illustrate, she'd write, she'd sing, she'd photograph and she'd never get in a hole. Which I frankly admired about her. In eigth grade, Mimi would show me drawings she'd make and tell me very excitedly about their lore.

That's when I gout out of my whole of writing.
And got into the role of the copycat.

Since there were so many imaginary friends in my head anyway, I thought why not show them to her.

And one of the first ones - was RED.

RED is a nine year old girl.

Who's the head of a top secret spy organization called the Scarlet Army!
(my idea, no one elses'! got that?)

The motto of the army is "Dans l'ombre et hors-la-loi"

Which means "In the shadows and out of the law"

So RED became friends with a bunch of her characters - and for that to happen, they needed to interact. To interact, we needed to draw them. IN COMICS!
So the drawing fest began. And I began drawing left and right! In between class, right after it, right before it!

It gave me sort of an adrenaline rush.

I liked drawing.

So I wanted to improve. After surfing the wild and dangerous place called the internet - I found it - SparkleDrawz.

She gave really easy tutorials on eyes and face and anatomy and stuff which really impacted my ACTUAL STYLE.

In the vacation I looked through more artists online and none really stuck other than Kryjovnik, SparkleDrawz, and LavenderTowne. There were probable more but I forgot. If you are interested in art - please check out these channels, they are really good!

I listen to Kryjovnik's videos when I draw because I like the additional noise and her accent.

Even still, my FAVOURITE ARTISTS will always be Panda and Mimi.

Here's a drawing of RED. As you can see, I'm painfully beginner. I am terrible at side profiles and for some reason, Red's head in one of them is too small for her body. But I really enjoy it and I especially love sharing it.
