TERRE FANTASIER #3
Mami turned out to be the children's mother. She was a smiling, bright-eyed woman with a star brooch and sea-blue hair tied up in a messy bun. 'Mami!' yelled Flumen, running forward to hug his mother. 'Hey, Flum! Where did you run off to? Stella-' she stopped dead when she saw me,' A-A human...'
'Yeah Mum, this is N. We found her wandering through the forests. Can you help her get back to her home?' asked Stellae. Mami stared dumbstruck at me, 'H-honey, humans aren't welcome here.'
'But Mami! She's really really nice!' said Flumen, still hugging her.
'She might be honey, but there is nothing I can do,' said Mami, fearfully.
'But, you're really good with potions!' said Stellae, 'And portals!'
'W-well there is this one portal leading to Iarth,' said Mami
'Earth,' I corrected.
'But it is restricted to commoners, even I-as one of the Queen's twelve ministers can't get in,' said Mami. My heart was pounding and I felt faint, this place was awesome - but, what about home? My parents? The Hummingbirds? The Happiness Project? Al? Panda? Mimi? Guppy? Everyone? I didn't consider myself a crybaby but right then I felt all hope be stripped away from me. My eyes welled up and my hands started shaking. Mami, seeing my face took a deep breath, 'Flumen, Stellae, you stay here. N, you're coming with me. We got a palace to break into!'
'HOORAY!' yelled Flumen.
Mami gave me a cloak with a hood with constellations etched to cover my face and a cloth we could use as a mask. She gave me navy gloves and blue and gold boots that fit every foot. 'We're gonna have to be very careful...let me do all the talking...keep a low profile...try not to bring attention to yourself...okay N - ready?'
'I was born ready!' I say, my blood pounding in my ears. Outside, we got a Cab-Carrier—a carriage pulled by a pegasus. When we took off, I unconsciously gripped Mami, 'Sorry.'
'Oh, it's fine. Pegasi carriages are reserved for members of the royal court,' she shrugged and said, 'The view's the best part.'
I timidly looked outside, the world was a haze of clouds, colour and magic. 'What do you call this place?' I asked her.
'Jumenlialienthyderanguxermen,' said Mami,
I blinked twice, okay. Terre Fantasier it is!
We finally reached a marvel of marble, diamonds and gold. The royal palace was nothing short of extraordinary. I stared open-mouthed at the monument - the thing that rivalled all forms of human beauty. I meekly followed Mami inside, oohing and aahing at everything I saw. This place was magnificent.
We reached a library, with stars etched onto the ceiling and ancient scrolls put up on the wall. We tip-toed to the restricted section and opened a book which was bound by large gold chains. Inside I saw what looked like inside of a bush. Home? 'This is where Iyarth ('Earth!' I grumbled) is, jump right in...'
I looked at Mami earnestly, 'Thanks, a lot...'
Mami smiles and shoves it off. 'Oh, it was nothing. What mother am I if I don't help my children's friends.'
I gave a slight nod, my eyes tearing up. I give Mami a tight hug and whisper, 'Tell bye to Flumen and Stellae for me.'
She hugged me and said, 'I won't ever forget.'
'WHO'S THERE!' boomed a voice from afar. Mami looked at me urgently, 'Quick, GO!'
I put a hand in, then my head, then...
'OW!' I yell as I get up from the bush. I was back where my bike crashed. I dusted myself off, wondering if all that happened was a dream. 'Oi!' I heard a yell. I looked up and saw it was Beth, 'What the heck are you wearing?'
I looked down and didn't know what to feel when I saw a cloak, boots and mask over my face. 'Umm, just came back from a costume party,' I said quickly, 'Gotta go change!"
THAT WAS CRAZY! And if you manage to sneak into the unknown depths of my wardrobe, you'll find a pair of blue and gold boots that can fit any foot.
THE END!
