Christmas

Christmas! You either love it or hate it. I'm sort of floating in the middle, between despising with all my gut and loving it so much that I might explode into a huge cloud of candy.

We all have Christmas traditions.
I was really protective of them until I was ten or something and realised the world was gonna change even if I duct taped it to a pole.
That was deep..
Anyway.
This Christmas I spent at my uncle's house, with his new baby, GIA! Gia was honestly the best part of Christmas. The worst part was that I was awaken from my Midday nap for pictures. Absolutely preposterous. I didn't get many presents this year.
Correction.
I didn't get any presents.
I don't know why. I was a very good kid all year round. Mostly. My uncle did order me this new book I've been wanting on Amazon, though. On Christmas. Which kinda beats the point, but at least I'm getting the second book of the Keepers of the Lost Cities...I hope.

We got up really late, and we were about to miss mass. So we jumped into the car, (while dragging my sitser along) and I locked the house.

I didn't have anything really Christmasy to wear this year so I stole my sister's white sweater with stars all over it. She threw a tantrum in the lift (because she didn't realise I was wearing it till then), but forgot about for long enough. Till I somehow got chocolate under my arm. Then she threw another tantrum. But luckily, it was while the baby was sleeping so everybody shushed her up real quick.

Around noon, my uncle's friend came. I'll call him Squareface. Is that rude? Fine, I'll stick with...Rob. And his wife - I liked his wife - I'll call her - Linny. Linny's a nice name, agree to disagree.
So Rob...and Linny came to join us, and Linny went straight for the baby. Which was understandable. The baby is adorable.

I wanted to play with the baby using the ceramic Christmas figurines my uncle kept all over the flat.
He told me they weren't toys. And gave me a cow rattle instead.
Why do the ceramic figures look like those funky characters from an 80s cartoon then?

Rob was complaining about the dress code. See, my uncle is all psh, so he sent a text telling all of us to wear white for Christmas. So Rob bought a white shirt on the way there I think - and my uncle showed up wearing a green polo shirt. Which Rob became very annoyed about.

To pass time because I quickly got bored, I watched two movies.

BOSS BABY. Don't kill me just because I didn't watch it earlier. Didn't I just mention that before ten, I was scared of new stuff. Which I found awesome, but I missed half of it, cause I had to eat lunch and my grandfather watched it without me.

IN YOUR DREAMS
Which is actually a sweet and wholesome movie where the main character is just gorgeous. I was putting it off for a while because maybe I'm still a little scared of new things.

Neither are Christmas movies, but I don't care.

Anyway, we took some pictures where my uncle praised himself for the incredible lighting. In all honesty, it was mediocre.

Gia finally got tired of it and went into a ten minute nap, after which she stared at a light really intensely for about an hour. Babies are weird.

Rob and Linnie left, and Gia seemed to wake from her light-staring stupor and began laughing at the cupboard. Which firmly convinced me that babies can see ghosts.

Anyway, after eating dinner, my family said goodbye and drove home. Halfway through the carride, nobody could find the house keys. And I was inwardly panicking, because I locked the house. And then we reached home, and found the keys -  still on the lock.

anyway
