MY DARLING SISTER

 HELLO

It's me again! I am sure I have mentioned my younger sister before. Ru. The family's pride and joy. Of course, I love my dear sis like anything, but like all sibling relationships, we have had our share of quarrels. She looks quite different from me. She has silky bangs and I have a mass of curls, she has a button nose and I have a normal one, I am a bookworm and the only book she likes is The Wimpy Kid, she is great at math and I am, well, not.

We have our differences but we are quite alike as well-

We both have snappy tongues

We both love cottage cheese

We both like pulling each other's hair out

We both love TV

And more! My sister also has her fair share of attitude. The moment she could read a calendar she concluded that I was not two years older. But I was only one year eleven months and four days older. SERIOUSLY! But it is quite funny when you think about it. And at times, we have to have each other's backs.

Ru found some eyeliner one day. My sister absolutely loved it. It was quite a big pot. It could last ages. Though I didn't use it much, at times she insisted I put it on. And I found that to be incredibly annoying. On one particularly noisy day, I took refuge in the guest room(it was vacant) to read in silence. I sat by the foot of the bed, greatly immersed in the book. Just then, my lovely sister waltzed in and decided she wanted to give me a makeover. She irritatingly waved the eyeliner stick up to my face. In a reflex, I waved her away. But my hand hit the bottle and it flew, splattering the ink on my face, the sheets, the glass cabinets and the tile floor. We both stared in shock at the mess, knowing our grandmother would scold us silly if she found out. There was no time to think, scream, or even scold each other, so we went to sibling team-up mode.  I got paper towels and we wiped the cabinets and the floor clean till they were spotless. Both of us tucked the stained part of the bed sheets under and I washed my face better than I ever washed my face before.

We both stared at the finished result of our teamwork proudly. Not a single trace of eyeliner was left behind. We fist bumped. I still think my sister is the most annoying, entitled, spoilt little brat in the world. But boy, do I love her to bits. So at the end of the day, your sibling is the best friend you can't get rid of. And you don't know how happy I am because of that! 'Til the next story
