LOST IN THE LOUVRE

 GOOD MORNIN' LADIES AND GENTLEMEN

As you might have gathered from my earlier posts, I am a bit clumsy. But nothing proves my statement more than the time I got lost in the large turning passageways of the Louvre Museum.

I just graduated. First Grade. When my parents announced that we were going on tour! To Europe! And I was like, "Yeah, cool". Only now, after the pandemic, with me sitting here, with my stuffed koala Charlie beside me, do I realize how cool that is. And before I could blink I was getting on a plane with a bunch of my parents' friends heading off to Germany. We went to Frankfurt, Luxembourg, Switzerland, yada yada. The only place my family was heading to alone, was France. And that was because my cousins lived in Paris. I had tons of fun there, and I absolutely adored my aunt and cousins(they had the biggest stash of candy I have ever seen!). We went to the Eiffel Tower and finally what y'all have been waiting for, The Louvre Museum. If any of you do not know what the Louvre is, it is basically this super tall, super wide, super cool museum where the Mona Lisa and other cool stuff are kept.

My Aunt had work and my cousins had school, so we ended up going there alone. My sister being both four years old and lazy at the time went on a stroller. And we needed to get up a flight of stairs. Plus the elevator was jam-packed. So my father and Ru went on the elevator and my mother and I took the stairs. When we reached we waited at the elevator entrance for Ru and my father to come out. We waited and waited and waited. Nobody came out. My mother gave my fath
er a call and what he said shocked us-" What d'you mean you're still waiting by the elevator! We got out ten minutes ago! Which floor are you in?"

" The second!" said my mother.

" Are you sure, cause so am I and I can't see you or N.M. anywhere!"

" Oh of course I am not sure! I am obviously misreading the big plastic 2 in front of me!" said my mother sarcastically.

" Ok Ok! Calm down" said my father growing irritated as well, "Try going to the big column on the third floor. I'll try to meet you there"

"K," my mother said cutting the call. "Well N, it looks like we're going to go on a wild goose chase"

" Are Dad and Ru geese Ma?" I asked innocently

" Who said they weren't," said Ma cheekily. I laughed. Then, the idea of chasing wild geese was more fun than anything. We went to the ginormous column on the third floor and rang Dad and Ru." ya here yet?"

" Just got here, I can't find you though," said Dad, "try waving your arms".

"Like monkeys?!" asked Mother rolling her eyes.

"Yeah, you got it," said my father.

My mother didn't but I did." you're not here, what about the entrance of the Mona Lisa?"

" Sure," said Dad. And then off to the Mona Lisa, we went. And again Ma dialed Dad," You here?"

" By now yes," said Dad, " where are you now?"

" It seems as if you are telling me there are two second floors, two giant columns on the third floor and two entrances to the painting of Leonardo de Vinci?"

" Honestly by now, I wouldn't be surprised if there were two Mona Lisas"

My mother groaned and cut the call, "C'mon N, let your father find us if he wants".

And the next thing I knew, me and my mother were skimming through all the exhibits without a care in the world. We even saw the Mona Lisa( her smile reminded me a lot of my sister). After, I and Ma were talking on a bench when I heard an excited gasp. It was Dad pushing Ru's stroller walking toward us ecstaticly. I ran and gave him a bear hug. They told us about what they did when Ma cut the call. I don't remember much from that part though. When we told Dad about our day his jaw hit the ground. "You went to the Mona Lisa without us?"

Ma nodded proudly. Another trip to the Mona Lisa later we sat outside on a park bench eating the ham sandwiches Aunt packed for us. I was busy telling the whole story to Ru before Ma prodded me and pointed out that she was sleeping. "Oh," I said disappointed.

And yes, that was the best ham sandwich I ever had. I laughed so much on that trip! And just so you know, Dad and Ru are not geese. Both of them are perfectly sane human beings( At least my Dad is, not so sure about my sister though) Do comment about a time you got lost( with a parent or without) and feel free to check out my other posts.

THAT'S IT FOR THE DAY!
