The Pool

In my Villa there's a pool.
A regular rectangular pool.
And this was the shining light of heaven when I first arrived there. The pool is right next to this huge building called the clubhouse. It's a public pool, so anyone living in the villa and their guests can go there. Even though it's the best part of the Villa, we don't go there much. Why? Because we need 'parent supervision'

I call this ridiculous.

I know how to swim fairly well, and the pool ain't that deep!

OK, imagine a five-foot person. Short, Ok, I know. I'm waiting for a growth spurt.

Now, are you imagining them? Now imagine the water at their shoulders. See! Not that deep. And there are floaties (which I'm sure are supposed to be rescue hoops, but everyone just plays with them) in case anyone DOES drown. Which is never gonna happen.

All the parents do are sit there. Staring. Not at us, whom they're supposed to be "looking after". They look at their PHONES. Or they'll gossip with another parent. Which is not fair. Also, all we need when swimming is BETH

Remember? From the Hummingbirds?

Beth, in my opinion, is as tall as the EIFFEL TOWER. And as strong as the EIFFEL TOWER. So I'm pretty sure no one will drown as long as she's swimming with us. As long as she's ot too busy doing handstands underwater. You can't really hear screaming down there.

Another reason we don't go there often is because it's closed half the time! Like last year the parents were paranoid about BRAIN EATING AMOEBA and so we weren't allowed to go and they demanded a deep clean of the pool. But then parents got worried about the chlorine. So we weren't allowed to go for a while. And because of that, the management didn't put chlorine for a while, and that meant, when summer rolled around, the pool was infested with so many insects the Amazon Rainforest would be envious. So we couldn't go in because of THAT.

Parents complained, so they did a deep cleaning of the pool. Which took WEEEEKSSS and next thing we know, we're back in school with no time to pool!

But, I should probably stop complaining cause we had a few great times in the pool too.

Once the Hummingbirds went on a group pool trip! It was super fun! We played tag. And Alara threw rocks and we dove to find them. I flipped Tia off the floatie hoop thingie (sorry Tia) and Beth helped me handstand. Ann carried Ru around the pool. Lily gracefully floated around as Ru pounced on her.

So, yeah. The POOL is the best part in the Villa. But you know what's better. Your awesome, slightly insane friends! I'm glad to live in a villa and have a pool, but I'm gladder to have such awesome people to enjoy it with.
