I got a cousin! I KNOW!
Like I've been begging for a little brother ever since I can remember. I don't know, I just wanted one. They were so cute and honestly, anything would be better than the little devil in my house. But my parents wouldn't give in, so when my uncle got married three years ago, I turned to him as my last hope. My mother's brother has a daughter (I'll call her Pixie, since it's adorable), but Pixie lives in Canada and we rarely get to see her face-to-face.
So when my father's little brother got married, I patiently waited for a cousin. Since he lives close by. It was literally the only thing I asked of him whenever he asked what I wanted for anything, like my birthday, Christmas, holidays. And this year, on February something, my aunt told us she was pregnant. And we were so excited. Her baby bump was very big as the months passed. At first, my Uncle wanted to keep it a secret for the first few months, though I had no idea why. When he finally told everyone, everyone was ALMOST as excited as I was. A few years ago, long before my uncle got married, my sister and I made a bet on the gender.
So what if it was three years before he even got engaged? Didn't I mention I wanted a sibling other than the one that bites my hands?
I vouched for boy and my sister went for girl. The thing was, if one party loses, they have to do whatever the first party said for an entire day. Soon, September 20th came, my Aunt's birthday. And she gave birth that day! So her child and her have the same birthday!
I had mixed reactions at first, like, how would the kid react to having to share a cake. Cause sharing cake is no fun, but I was super happy.
And....it was a girl. I WAS SUPER HAPPY OF COURSE! But, I just didn't want my sister to have a Yes Day. The day before, My Aunt and Uncle realized they only had a girl name in mind, and so they scrambled to find a boy name, though I gave them splendid names beforehand. But I guess the heavens took pity on them and gave them what they were prepared for.
As you might have guessed, I'll be calling her Gigi on the blog. Though by the nickname, you can probably tell her real name.
She loves to sleep a lot. Every time we visit her, she's got her eye screwed shut. And she also looks like she's almost about to sneeze all the time! But she never actually sneezes though. I've never seen her sneeze. When I first heard Pixie sneeze when she was a newborn, it was so adorabunny! I think her favourite people are her great-grandmother and my dad.
Cause when her great-grandma held her for the first time, she couldn't stop smiling. I couldn't tell what she was smiling at, cause her eyes we squeezed shut. And my mom said she smiled st my father too so good for him.
I hope she becomes a kind person. Because I'm gonna spoil her rotten! Well not rotten...you know what I mean...Ru might though.
