Writer's Block.

  Hey, guess what?

I'm an eighth grader now.

I have successfully aged up to ANCIENT. But, so far, this year has been boring.. No classroom drama, the class clowns have taken a backseat, the teachers are too tired to pull any jokes (jokes on them, they're basically fossils by now) and I'm sitting in class waiting for something, ANYTHING to happen. Nothing.

So as a product of everyday being boring, and everything being so mind-numbingly boring, there's nothing to write about. I was like, this  close to having writer's block. And then it hit me like a flying donkey. Why don't I write about writer's block!

Last year, through one of my toughest writing sludges, I found the cure to everything - Enid Blyton. Like one read of a famous five or the Naughtiest Girl and you suddenly feel your hands itching like a thousand mosquitos bit it at the same time! (FIGURATIVELY! F-I-G-U-R-A-T-I-V-E-L-Y

I sat huddled on my bed, devouring each and every word like I haven't eaten in weeks.

I mostly recommend THE FAMOUS FIVE the most, cause that is where the adventure is! But if you can't get out of the block even after binge reading the entire series, go back a year or two, become seven again and read the book that got me addicted to reading in the first place - GERONIMO STILTON himself. There's just something about him that gets the gears of my head working again. There's something so lovable about that ginger rat (or mouse, or scaredymouse, your call) that gives me the itchy hands to write again!

Or if you're not a fan of G. Stilton, you can head on over to the punky covers of Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney. For some reason this is the only book Ru likes, other than TOM GATES. She's read the whole set. I've read them more. Because Eighth Grade is deadly boring.

This is my friendly guide to get out of Writer's Block for anybody and everybody. If by any chance you haven't heard of any of these awesome books, you're missing out on a lot! Here's a list for quick checking-

Any Enid Blyton

 THE FAMOUS FIVE (especially)

GERONIMO STILTON (Or Thea Stilton If you prefer)

Diary of a Wimpy Kid

TOM GATES
