THE TERRE FANTASIER #2
Mornin' and Merry Christmas, and as a special Christmas treat I have decided to finish the story or tour of The Terre Fantasier.
"I'll take you to Mami. She knows a lot of portals. Maybe she can get you back home through one," said Stellae.
"Yeah! Mami!" said Flumen happily. "Let's get out of the woods first. Peikkos might be roaming around. It's getting dark."
"What are Peikkos?" I ask, unsure whether Flumen was completely making up its existence.
"They are hairy, large-limbed monsters that won't enjoy being besties with us," said Stellae, shrugging, "Now let's go!"
We make our way through the thickly brambled forests as Flumen told me about how he encountered a Peikko and when it tried to eat him, he strangled it with his own two hands. It was very hard to believe, especially with Stellae rolling her eyes half the time. "Let him live," she whispered to me as Flumen enacted his gruesome conversation with the monster, "Our Daida is a hunter, Flum hears his stories all the time. He wants to be a hunter too one day."
I laughed as I thought of the little plump boy running across the terrifying woods, being chased by whatever a Peikko is.
We reached a small clearing and Stellae climbed up a tree as Flumen continued his story. "Just a little more to go," called down Stellae from the tree. After a bit more walking, we encountered a village. The most fantastical village I have ever laid eyes on. And I have been to Kidtopia.
There were houses that walked around on chicken legs, huts that had mysterious purple mist coming out of their chimneys, cottages with roofs shaped like wizard hats. Paths lined with carnivorous flowers. Birds roaming around with three heads. Fish with bonnets and bow-ties taking casual strolls. And more cool, were the people! Fairies, elves, trolls, jointires (Apparently that is what Stellae's species is called) and so much more!
Stellae led me to a nice house with dancing daffodils and singing salvia at the windowsills, a welcome mat saying "All Are Welcome" but had a mouth carved in it with terrifying fangs. We walked in and an aroma of mushroom soup wafted through the air. And that wis when I met Mami...
